'Relax Kids - Amazing Meditations for Wizards of all ages' - a fantastic CD of 16 short meditations filled with magic and inspiration. They are quite varied from riding on unicorns and broomsticks to deep relaxation with the aid of fairy dust! My two children particularly loved the Wizard of Oz meditation where you get to ask a question of the wizard and sit in stillness listening for the answer. I had to laugh at our different questions when we compared them afterwards - I asked a philosophical one about my life, Daniel asked the wherabouts of Atlantis and Charlotte asked whether the wizard preferred vanilla or chocolate ice cream!
Visit the Relax Kids site to see all their wonderful titles - nature meditations have become our favourite, very nice to go to sleep to :)

'Little Grey and the Great Mystery" by Rachel Rivett. A charming and gentle spiritual book for younger children (though our 11 year old really liked it too) about the Great Mystery of life and where we all came from. Little Grey is sent out to gather answers from others living in the wood, such as Brother Stream, Sister Crow and Grandmother Moon and the picture grows. Beautiful illustrations and colour usage throughout - very Waldorf in style. While this is a lovely book for all children, the author has worked extensively with young people considered to have emotional and behavioural difficulties and in this book seeks to provide some 'pattern amongst the chaos' for them too.
'Kids Do Yoga Too' - a basic but very enjoyable yoga DVD for children. This DVD is Australian and set both in the forest and at the beach with a cast of children of various ages and 1 adult teacher. The positions have been renamed with Aussie creature names like dingo, sea snail, Tasmaniam tiger and such and there are little poems, shots of wildlife and pictures throughout. Both kids really enjoy this tape and I can see that it strengthens and aids co-ordination.
A beautiful angel colouring book by Diana Cooper. A lovely way to connect children with angels.
'Teen Angel' by Glennyce Eckersley. A great book of true life angelic encounters involving teenagers. It can be very comforting for young people to know that there is help available to them from spiritual sources.
'The Pumpkin Patch - a Traditional Buddhist Tale' retold by Sybil Taylor and illustrated by June Atkin. A simple yet profound tale which teaches children about meditation and the interconnectedness of all life. Charlotte (age 8) was most impressed with the illustrations which are beautiful.
A couple of festive titles - but they are nice all year!
'Tod and the Clock Angel' - a charming story about Tod, a young boy who has nothing and nobody until he meets a clock angel on Christmas Eve. Beautiful illustrations.
'The Little Angel' by Jan Pancheri. On Christmas Eve a small angel realises an old man needs her help - slightly tear jerking as the angel sets off on her mission guided by a star.
'The mountains of Tibet' - a Buddhist story for children, which introduces the subject of reincarnation in a very simple way. Suitable for quite small children and for reading ages 6 and up.
'A Child's book of Prayers - from many faiths and cultures' compiled by Tessa Strickland. A beautiful book with many colour photographs and simple poetic prayers from many different religions and cultures.
'Star Babies' - Mary Summer Rain's book tells of many different races of people living on different planets and the ways in which they live and worship God and the universe.
'Mountains, Meadows and Moonbeams - a childs spiritual reader' by Mary Summer Rain. Reading age 8-12, this book covers many different spiritual subjects including parapsychology, God, precognition, telepathy, auras, healing, out of body experiences and nature spirits. It also has many pictures suitable for colouring!
'All I see is part of me' - a small boy learns that he is a part of all creation and that all of creation is a part of him - beautifully illustrated.

'What is God?' - all children ask this question at some point. This book doesn't give a hard and fast answer. It looks at the major world religions and focuses on the similarities rather than the differences.
'A Spirited Alphabet - from A to Z' by Morgan Simone Daleo. An alphabet of beautiful qualities and values. 'A is for angel, asleep in his bed. B is the beauty of birds overhead'
'Birdie Halleluyah!' by Judith Kerr, the author of the much loved 'Mog' books. This is a very comical but loving look at the relationship between a small boy and his guardian angel. Simple text and gentle, detailed pictures make it suitable for very small children upwards.
'To Sleep with the Angels' by H. Elizabeth Collins. A very comforting bedtime story about a little girl who has a magical adventure while being protected by her guardian angel.
'The Little White Horse' by Elizabeth Goudge. A combination of mystery, romance and spirituality are found here in this enchanting tale. When 13 year old Maria arrives in Moonacre Valley she finds an old memory of a little white horse and the Moon Princess and some lingering sadness - she sets out to put things right! Reading age 9-12 but suitable for reading aloud from about 6.
